Thomas Simon Gibson, 86, of Iuka, MS, formerly of Justice, IL, died Monday, October 5, 2015, at Cornerstone Health and Rehab in Corinth. Mr. Gibson was of the Wesleyan faith, and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a self-employed carpenter, and enjoyed gardening. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, at Fairview Community Church, officiated by Bro. Dewey Smith. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Naomi Gibson of Iuka; one son, George Gibson (Kim) of Lombard, IL; one daughter, Shelby Joslin (Robert) of Iuka; two sisters; four grandchildren, Holly Gibson-Tyson of Wisconsin, Crystal Joslin of Iuka, Sarah Jane Gibson of Lombard, IL, and Erin Gibson of Lombard, IL; and one great-grandson, Orion Gibson-Tyson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Marie Gibson; his parents, Marvin and Nellie Roach Gibson; three brothers; one sister; and Veronica Gibson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Community Church.
