David Scott Murphy, 43, of Glen, MS, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at his residence. Scott attended Church of the Crossroads and was a construction worker. He loved the Memphis Grizzlies and the Memphis Tigers. He also loved his family and his pit bulls. Though he fought his disease for twenty years, he loved to be on the go. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to service time at the funeral home on Saturday. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his father, John David Murphy of Iuka; his mother, Sue Swim (John) of Tuscumbia, AL; his grandmother, Lois Bryant; two brothers, Jonathan Murphy (Angie) of Memphis, TN, and Tyler Murphy of Tulsa, OK; one sister, Katy Murphy of Corinth; a nephew, Knox Warner; a niece, Hattie Murphy; and a god-daughter, Briley Stone of Corinth. He was preceded in death by a son, Kaleb Murphy; his grandfathers, Lester Bryant and Dan Murphy; and his grandmother, Emma Gene Pace.
