Horace Edwin Ledgewood

Horace Edwin Ledgewood, 87, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Ledgewood was born to the late Vernon McKinley Ledgewood and Allie Louan Shook Ledgewood on December 26, 1927, in Waterloo, AL. He was a Baptist and attended Iuka Baptist Church since October 1963, where he actively participated, especially in the music program. He spent the majority of his working career in civil engineering. He also served as Tax Assessor and Collector for Tishomingo County, MS. Horace was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the American Legion. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 13, at the Iuka Baptist Church. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to service time at the church on Thursday. Services will be officiated by Bro. Jim Holcomb. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Alan, Anthony, and Kevin Ledgewood, Quthel and Jerry McNatt, and Dorvell Bugg. Honorary pallbearers include Bobby Flynt, Logan Wade, Robert Flynt, Richard Hathcock, Josh Morgan, and Reed, Steve, and Joseph McNatt. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vonnie McNatt Ledgewood of Iuka; a daughter, Rhonda Flynt and husband, Bobby, of Iuka; two grandchildren, Erin Wade Hathcock and husband, Richard, of Iuka, and Logan Wade of Iuka; three step-grandchildren, Erica Flynt Morgan and husband, Josh, Tiffany Flynt, and Robert Flynt, all of Iuka; and a sister, Villa Ledgewood of Iuka. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Ottie, Garold, Ruben, and Weyman Ledgewood.
