Nona Bonds Burns Barnett, 69, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Monday, March 30, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She served the community for many years by selling real estate and working for Mississippi Action for Progress Headstart Program. Shew as a loving sister, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She loved to laugh and enjoyed her small town living. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, cooking and going out to eat, and the occasional trips to the casino and bingo. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Wednesday, April 1 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Jackie Pittman and Bro. Jimmy Daniel. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by 1 daughter – Michele Knickerbocker (Max) of Iuka; 1 brother – Leck Bonds of Ridgeland; 3 sisters – Anne Bates of Iuka, Bernice Bonds of Iuka, and Linda Bonds of Tupelo; 2 grandchildren – B.J. and Karis of Iuka; 3 step grandchildren – Heather Knickerbocker of Lenexa, Kansas; Michael Knickerbocker (KiKi) of Norfolk, VA; and Ross Knickerbocker of Munising, MI; and 2 step great grandchildren – Lander and Faith of Munising, MI; and several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Annie Bonds; one brother, Marty Bonds; and two husbands, Wacon Burns and Clifton Barnett. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the National Kidney Foundation.
