Charlie Wayne Thornton, 70, of Walnut, Mississippi, died Friday, February 13, 2015, at his residence. He was a member of Soul’s Harbor Apostolic Church in Walnut and had served his country in the U. S. Armed Forces. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Saturday, February 14, at Soul’s Harbor Apostolic Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 15, at the church, officiated by Rev. Jesse Cutrer and Rev. Brandon Bates. Interment will follow in Community Pentecostal Church Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers include Thomas Rickman, Chris Hensley, Danny Hensley, Danny Bumpas, Lance Cutrer, and Terry Foster. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Cissom, Mark Wilkins, Fred Wilbanks, and Rebon Crum. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Cooper Thornton of Walnut, his father, Charlie Ford Thornton of Walnut; two daughters, Linda Carol Pace (Tony) of Booneville, MS, and Kimberley Sue Keymon (Dannie) of Walnut; four sisters, Shirley Jackson of Middleton, TN, Peggy Rich (Jerry) of Walnut, Trudy McDonald (Larry), and Charlene Swinford, both of Corinth, MS; two brothers, James Thornton (Linda), and David Thornton (Shelia), both of Walnut; eleven grandchildren, Thomas Jamieson, Scott Thornton, Melissa Thornton, Shawn Thornton, Skylar Thornton, Rodney Pace (Kimberly), Austin Pace, Hannah Pace, Dylan Keymon, Carly Keymon, and Bryson Keymon; and one great grandchild, Kyson Pace. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary R. Thornton; his son, Martin Wayne Thornton; and a grandchild, Dawson Clay Keymon.
