Bessie Burleson, 95, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, December 07, 2014, at the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka. She was retired from the Tishomingo County School District after many years of service in the cafeteria. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, fishing, and most of all time with children and grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 8 PM on Monday, December 8 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Dwight South. Interment will follow in Palestine Cemetery. Pallbearers include Melvin Vaughn, Dale Nord, Gene Johnson, Travis Johnson, Jordan Vaughn, Brett Vaughn, and Josh Johnson. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 2 daughters – Judy Vaughn (Melvin) of Iuka and Jane Nord (Dale) of Franklin, TN; 1 brother – Arlis Mock (Willard Faye) of Fulton; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burleson; Her parents, George and Lula Mock; One son, Sammy Wayne Burleson; One brother, Connie Mock; One sister, Rabil South, and son-in-law Freed Miller Memorial contributions may be made to the Palestine Cemetery Fund.
