David Andy Brown

David Andy Brown, 54, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, September 28, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. David was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, where he served as Song Director. He was a 1980 graduate of Ingomar High School. His lifelong passion was gospel music. David was a former piano player for several gospel groups, including “The Pruitts”, “Glorybound”, “The Psalmists”, and others. Most recently, he played the piano and sang with his wife and daughter at church, as well as at homecomings, revivals, and other singings. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 2, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Dwight South and Bro. Mike Haynes. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include Andrew McKee, Eric McKee, Charlie Powers, John Bray, Randy Stringer, Lonnie McKee, Talmadge Powers, and Adam Wright. Honorary pallbearers include Johnny McKee and Bryan Powers. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Annette McKee Brown, and his daughter, Hannah Noelle Brown, both of Iuka; a brother, Hugh Brown (Sandra) of New Albany; his mother-in-law, Lajetta McKee of Iuka; a brother-in-law, Ronny McKee (Lisa) of Tishomingo; two nephews, Andrew McKee and Eric McKee; a niece, Carrie McKee; several great-nephews and nieces; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Alice Brown; an infant brother, Stanley Wayne Brown; and his father-in-law, Clay McKee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spring Hill Cemetery Fund, LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
