Shirley Copeland Rye, 62, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at her residence. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed volunteering and helping out other people. She enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, and working in her yard and with her flowers. Visitation is scheduled for 6 until 8 PM on Wednesday, May 14 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Donnie Bobo. Interment will follow in Carpenter Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 2 daughters – Sonja Meshella Armendariz (David) of Burnsville and Lisa Susan Johnson (Mark) of Corinth; 1 brother – Mike Carpenter (Loretta) of Burnsville; 3 sisters – Judy Brooks (Don) of Corinth; Connie Sanders (Jeff) of Michie, TN; and Tabitha Pace of Burnsville; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, E. Toy Carpenter; her son, Vincent Swaine Copeland; and her husbands, Mack Copeland and Steve Rye.
