Donald Joe Borden, 59, of Cherokee, Alabama, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at his residence. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Interment will follow in Asphalt Rock Cemetery. It will be officiated by Bro. Perry Murphy and Bro. Benny McKinney. Pallbearers include Eddie Borden, Andrew Borden, Dewayne Wooten, Tony Borden, Taylor Aday, and John Maxwell. Honorary pallbearers include David Lee Borden and Jason Burks. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Mel Borden, of Cherokee; three sons, Eddie Borden and Andrew Borden, both of Cherokee, and Shane Wigginton of Colorado; two daughters, Lane Wigginton and Regina Jones, both of Iuka; his step-mother, Donna Borden of Cherokee; three brothers, David Borden (Sandra) and James Borden (Julia), all of Cherokee, and Grady Borden (Gail) of Corinth; two step-brothers, Patrick Bitner (Marley) and Will Bitner (Tina), all of Cherokee; one sister, Nelda Wooten (Jim) of Vina; four step-sisters, Becky Chase, Pam Ostegaard, Vicky Johnson, and Jean Cauffman; four grandchildren, Nevaeh Gonzalas, Alanna Rodgers, Dustin Jones, and Kelly Caldwell; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Junior Borden; his mother, Ruby Dooley; a sister, Brenda Kay Borden; a niece, Elzie Mae Borden; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Borden.
