Robert W. Stringer, 70, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, January 16, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Stringer was a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church. He retired from the State of Mississippi where he worked as a heavy equipment operator at Yellow Creek Port. He was a 32 degree mason and a member of the Tishomingo Lodge #522 F&AM. He enjoyed hunting, and was a very good father. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 noon, Sunday, January 19, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. J. B. Burns. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include Harry Bowman, Thomas Walker, Bryan Southward, Jeff Underwood, Tommy Hester, Lee Bruno, Kim Dawson, and Eric Bowman. Honorary pallbearers include H. O. Southward, Albert Wilson, Lamar Bolton, Clifford Cox, and Cliff Cox. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Eleanor Stringer of Iuka; three sons, Randy Stringer (Rhonda) of Iuka, Johnny McKee (Anna) of Iuka, and Lonnie McKee (Tina) of Corinth; one sister, Lajetta McKee of Iuka; four grandchildren, Matt McKee and Mary McKee, both of Iuka, and Kasey McKee and Laura McKee, both of Corinth; two great-grandchildren, Gracie McKee and Addie McKee, both of Iuka; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman “Bunch” and Maureen Wheeler Stringer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spring Hill Cemetery Fund.
