Lela Gamble, 99, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Monday, December 16, 2013, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center. Mrs. Gamble was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as cafeteria manager at the Iuka School, as a seamstress at Blue Bell, and as manager at General Dollar in Iuka. She also worked at Robbins Jewelry and Shoe Mart in Iuka. Mrs. Gamble enjoyed cooking, crafting, and sewing. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 18, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Stanley Magill and Bro. Ralph Culp. Interment will follow in Mt. Joy Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include one son, Ronnie Gamble of Iuka; one daughter, Gaye Gamble of Mantachie, MS; one sister, Ruth Welch of Henderson, TN; six grandchildren, Becky, Robert, Donna, Diane, Ralph, and Amanda; twelve great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Gamble; a daughter, Bennie Joe Brewer; and a grandson, Danny Aldridge. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
