Mae Romine Hudson

Mae Romine Hudson, 91, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center in Iuka. Born on October 13, 1922, in Rogersville, AL, Mrs. Hudson was the daughter of Jess and Myrtle Stutts Romine. She graduated from Coffee High School in Florence, AL. She had worked at the Tishomingo County Hospital, the Iuka Shirt Factory, and as a sitter for the elderly. She was an active member of Campground United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities over the years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Iuka Chapter #126 and the Harmony Homemakers Club. Mrs. Hudson enjoyed cooking, working in her flowers, and caring for others. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by the Rev. Larry Sappington and the Rev. Robert Armstrong. Interment will follow in Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Brian Hudson, Kevin Hudson, Brock Hudson, Jonathan Walker, Dexter Walker, and Danny Hudson. Honorary Pallbearers include Wayne Hudson, Bobby Phifer, Gary Lomenick, Harold Lomenick, Bob Lomenick, Layne Harris, and Bill Smith. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years, J. E. Hudson of Iuka; one daughter, Connie Walker (Robert O’Neill) of Tuscumbia, AL; three sons, Barney Hudson (Shelia) of Iuka, Jerry Hudson (Linda) of Muscle Shoals, AL, and James Neil Hudson (Cynthia) of Iuka; thirteen grandchildren, Jonathan Walker (Jaqueline), Dexter Walker (Melissa) George M. Walker, James E. H. Walker, Sommar Morrow (Bob), Sara Hudson, Brock Hudson, Stacey Hamner (Ken), Brian Hudson, Katie Tesson (Vincent), Kevin Hudson (Tosha), Jacob Hudson, and Alexandra Ragland (Patrick); and twelve great-grandchildren, Joseph, Thomas, and Margarete Walker; Mead, Lucy, Annie, and Henry Walker; Tawny and Jackson Morrow; Harper and Claire Hamner; and Everett Ragland. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; her brother, Bufort Romine; and other infant siblings.
