Junior Borden, 81, of Cherokee, Alabama, died November 28, 2013, at Helen Keller Hospital. He was a member of Asphalt Rock Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and being outdoors. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Saturday, November 30 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Asphalt Rock Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Perry Murphy and Bro. R.C. Scott. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Asphalt Rock Cemetery. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived his wife, Ladonna Borden of Cherokee, AL; 4 sons – Joe Borden (Mel) of Cherokee; David Borden (Sandra) of Cherokee; James Borden of Corinth, and Grady Borden (Gail) of Cherokee; 2 step sons – Richard Bitner (Tina) and Patrick Bitner (Marley), both of Cherokee; 1 daughter – Nelda Wooten (Jim) of Vina, AL; 4 step daughters – Becky Chase of Arizona; Vicky Johnson of Racine, WI; Jean Kaufman of Iuka; and Pamela Ostergarrad of Racine, WI; 31 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Lee and Elzie Borden; his daughter, Brenda Kay Borden; his brothers – John, Aaron, Austin, and Leland Borden; his granddaughter, Elzie Mae Borden; and his daughter-in-law – Nancy Dianne Borden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Asphalt Rock Cemetery Fund.
