Blanche Brown, 95, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, October 24, 2013, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center in Iuka. Mrs. Brown was the oldest member of Snowdown United Methodist Church, and also played piano for several local Methodist churches. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, gardening, and her flowers. Above all she enjoyed time with her family, and receiving visitors to her home. Visitation is scheduled for 12 Noon until 3 PM on Saturday, October 26 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Aubrey Boren. Interment will follow in Snowdown Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ray Kirk, Malcolm Brown, Tony Brown, John Brown, Roger Brown, and Phil Kirk. Honorary bearers include Owen Brown, Jr., Glenn Brown, John Gonzales, and Charles Bryant. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 2 sons – Kirk Brown (Peggy) of Iuka and Johnny Brown of Lewisburg, TN; 2 daughters – Martha Robinson (Jimmy) of Iuka and Ruby Brown Smith of Cherokee, AL; 9 grandchildren – Malcolm Brown, Glen Brown, Tony Brown (Christy), Lorrie Brown (Gilbert), John Brown, Roger Brown (Kristie), Gregory Brown, Maria Bryant (Charles), and Jennifer Robinson; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Everett and Ruby Gertrude Kirk; her husband, John Henry “Red” Brown; 4 brothers – Noel, Major, Paulie, and Talmadge Kirk; and her sister, Beulah Kirk. Memorial contributions may be made to the Snowdown Cemetery Fund.
