Clay Whitfield, 90, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Saturday, September 21, 2013, at his residence. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He enjoyed woodworking, and spending time with his family. Visitation is scheduled for 6 until 8 PM on Monday, September 23 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Cliff Vines, Bro. Ronnie Goodwin, and Bro. Roger Wood. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include David Whitfield, Jimmy Whitfield, Lynn Perry, Larry Harwell, Michael Barnes, and Tommy Strickland. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Earline Whitfield of Iuka; 1 daughter – Charlotte Vines of Iuka; 1 sister – Mable Brown of Iuka; 1 grandson – Cliff Vines and his wife, Renee; 3 great grandchildren - Andrew, Samuel and Seth Vines; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Georgia Whitfield; his brother, Noel Whitfield; 3 sisters – Gertrude Robinson, Gladys Davis, and Mildred Harwell; and a grandchild, Monica Vines.
