Margaret S. Bullard, 73, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, August 25, 2013, at her home after an extended illness. She was born on January 10, 1940, to the late Ruth Stokes Storment Hurst and the late John B. Storment, Jr. Margaret married her high school sweetheart Ernest R. Bullard on April 2, 1959. She retired from the Mississippi State Cooperative Extension Service after many years of service, but began her career as a typist at the Tishomingo County News. She was a member of the Iuka Baptist Church.

Margaret enjoyed life to the fullest, especially time on Pickwick Lake with family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing her talents with those she loved. One was fortunate to be the recipient of anything prepared in her kitchen.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ernest R. Bullard, as well as one son, Ernest R. “Buddy” Bullard, Jr. and wife, Debra, of Iuka; a brother, John B. Storment, III and wife, Virginia, of Little Rock, AR; a grandson, Andy Bullard of Iuka; two granddaughters, Amanda Mathis and husband, Chris, and Candice Kirk of Iuka; four great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Shelley Braunecker of Little Rock, AR. In addition she leaves two step-brothers, Robert Hurst of Oklahoma City, OK, and Thomas Hurst of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her step-father, Coy F. Hurst

Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Rev. Tim Dixon and Rev. Gary Watkins will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Iuka. Pallbearers are John Castleberry, Tony Gaines, James Grisham, Gene Jourdan, Jay Kerby, Jon Riley, Charles Sweeney, and Tony Turbyfill. Honorary pallbearer is Janet Fulton. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements.
