Lessie Mae DePoyster Newcomb, 93, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. Mrs. Newcomb was of the Baptist faith; and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution Chief Tishomingo Chapter. She received a Masters Degree in Education from the University of North Alabama, and retired as a teacher in both Tennessee and Mississippi. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Robert L. Long. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include two grandchildren, Ray Marsh, Jr. and Guy Richard Marsh, both of Huntsville, AL; and nine nieces and nephews, Shirley Perez of Ft. Smith, AR, Robert Long of Ruskin, FL, Mae Correll of St. Marys, Ontario, Peggy Sutterfield of Ft. Smith, AR, Pat Burnside of Southaven, MS, Bobbie Sue Vincent of Nashville, TN, David Moore of Michie, TN, Tommy Moore of Counce, TN, and Jack Moore of Michie, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Newcomb; a daughter, Donne Marsh; and a nephew, Bill Moore.
