George Kenneth Clayton, 87, died Saturday, December 8, at home. He was born July 25, 1925 to Elmer and Flora Dora Cromwell Clayton. He retired from the Navy where he served in both
World War II and the Korean Conflict. After his military retirement he worked in Memphis first at RCA and later Schlitz Brewery. He then worked for the TVA and later retired in Pickwick, TN.
He was an avid fisherman, expert gardener and active member of the VFW Post 3962.

He is survived by his wife Louise Moore Crabtree Clayton, two sons, Kenneth Clayton,
St. Petersburg, FL, and Roger Clayton (Rie), Nashville, TN, step-daughter Trudy Copeland (John) Kosciusko, MS, Daughter-in-law, Jan Clayton, Savannah, TN, two brothers, Wilbur “Rusty” Clayton , Upland, CA, Arthur Clayton (Eddy), Smithville, MO, one sister, Edith Nathan, Hesperia, CA. Five grandchildren, Malachi Clayton, Aaron Clayton, Sai Clayton, Alaina Gray, Emily Clayton-Roberson, four step-grandchildren, Tinuviel Maese, Paris Maese, Amy Crabtree, Chris Copeland, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia Ruth Cadwell Clayton, one son, Mark Clayton and brothers Marshall, Kermit, Frank and Maynard Clayton, sisters Lara Sims, Hazel Brewer, Rachel Alter and Lois La Franco.

Graveside services will be Saturday, December 15, at 1:00 at Mt. Hermon Cemetary, Savannah, TN. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.
