Thelma Gallahar Newcomb, 92, of Florence, Alabama, formerly of Corinth, Mississippi, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at her residence. She was of the Baptist faith, and was retired from South Central Bell in Corinth, MS. She enjoyed gardening. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 9, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. John Alan Kennedy. Interment will follow in Jacinto Community Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Saturday. Pallbearers include Dustin Gardner, Michael Aycock, Michael Nash, Brent Newcomb, Dan Carlile, Garrett Green, and David Godsey. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include one son, Greg Newcomb of Columbia City, OR; two daughters, Diana Smith and Brenda Andujar and husband, Paul, all of Florence, AL; eight grandchildren, Trese Carlile, John Alan Kennedy, Michele Aycock, Tonja Herring, Phoebe Newcomb, Kesha Nash, Brent Newcomb, and Kaci Newcomb; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Owen Newcomb; a son, Gerald Wayne Newcomb; her parents, Sydney and Maggie Thompson Gallahar; a brother, Lamar Gallahar; two sisters, Willodene Duncan and Mauvene Sheldon; and a great-grandchild, Madeline Grace Aycock.
