Melvin "Bobo" Earl Simpson, Jr.

Melvin Earl “Bobo” Simpson, Jr., 67, of Cherokee, Alabama, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Simpson was a member of Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church. He was also a Mason, and a member of the Vertagreen Lodge #919 F&AM. He loved hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed yard work. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Bud Hamm. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Masons will serve as pallbearers. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by one son, Dennis Simpson of Iuka, MS; three daughters, Donna Wood and husband, Lewis, of Iuka, MS, Charlotte Easter and husband, Bob, of Cropwell, AL, and Anita LeFan and husband, Jimmy, of Iuka, MS; one brother, Jimmy Simpson of Cherokee, AL; one sister, Sheila Campbell of Belmont, MS; eight grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bess Maxwell Simpson; his parents, Melvin and Faye Simpson; two twin brothers, Ed and Ted Simpson; and a sister, Alice Simpson.
