Mildred Storment Curtis

Mildred Storment Curtis, 87, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Monday, June 4, 2012, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center. Mrs. Curtis was born September 21, 1924, to John B., Sr. and Myrtle Gravette Storment. She was a graduate of Northeast Mississippi Community College and Iuka High School, and was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Mildred worked for the Vidette, the Mississippi Department of Human Services, J. P. Coleman State Park, and the Iuka Library. She was an avid reader and loved genealogy. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 7, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Dr. H. Lloyd Storment and Betty Dexter. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include John Curtis Castleberry, Ernest R. Bullard, Thomas E. Day, Jon C. Riley, John B. Storment, III, and Jack Whitfield. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Shelia Curtis Castleberry and husband, John, of Iuka, MS; one grandson, John Curtis Castleberry and wife, Karen, of Iuka, MS; one brother, Dr. H. Lloyd Storment and wife, Maxine, of Louisville, KY; one sister, Martha Storment Grisham and husband, James, of Iuka, MS; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bart Curtis; her parents; three brothers, John B. Storment, Jr., Ben Gravette Storment, and James Robert Storment; and a sister, Ruth Storment Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
