Willie Kirby, 89, of Iuka, Mississippi, died February 16, 2012, at his residence. He was an U.S. Army veteran of WWII, where he served as a medic in the first wave of the invasion on Omaha Beach. He received a Bronze Star because of his valor and bravery in action. He was retired from General Motors after 27 years. He enjoyed fishing, and mowing his yard. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Sunday, February 19 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Jeff Smith. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by 1 daughter – Mary Grimm (James) of Iuka; 4 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Kirby; his parents, Milo and Mary Annie Kirby; and his daughter, Judy Copeland.
