L. B. Whitehead

LB Whitehead, 82, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Monday, December 12, 2011, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka. He retired from Mississippi Department of Transportation as a carpenter after 23 ½ years and was a member of Robert G. Smith Lodge #412 F & AM. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. William Burcham and Bro. Hal Holt. Interment will follow in Forrest Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dustin Yarber, Jeff Holt, Frankie Puckett, Benny Parrish, Hafford Luttrell and Wallace Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers include Dr. Al Flannery and Mr. Whiteheads grandsons and great grandsons. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his sons: Danny Joe “DJ” Whitehead (Marsha) of Corinth, Jacky Lane Whitehead (Shana) and Terry Mack Whitehead (Melissa) both of Tishomingo; a daughter: Gina Cavness (Phillip) of Tishomingo; his brothers: MR Whitehead of Tishomingo, JL Whitehead of Dennis and James Whitehead of Ripley; his sisters: Magalene Hood of Haleyville, AL and Hazel Moxley of Dennis MS; 8 grandchildren: Michael Paul Whitehead, Gregory Neal Whitehead, Jason Cody Whitehead, Emily Dawn Whitehead, Lauren Rose Cavness, Madison Amanda Whitehead, Dustin Wilson and Gavin Lane Whitehead; 4 great grandchildren: Taylor Whitehead, Chris Whitehead, Jason Cody Whitehead II, and Brody Michael Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife: Lena M. Whitehead, his sisters: Agnes Cadle and Opal Isabell and a brother: Marcus Jr. Whitehead.
