Auston Everet Curtis, 87, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka. He was a member of Iuka Baptist Church. He was a longtime owner of Curtis Furniture Store and was also employed by the Iuka Post Office for 4 years. He served as an alderman for the City of Iuka for several years and was an Air Force veteran of World War II. Visitation is scheduled for 4 until 8 PM on Tuesday, November 7 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Dr. Ronnie Hatfield. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Curtis of Iuka; 1 daughter, Cindy O’Daniel and husband Charles of Hixon, TN; 1 son, Mike Curtis and wife Debbie of Iuka, MS; 3 grandchildren, Bryan Curtis,Kim Curtis and Catrece Wileman and husband Travis; 1 step granddaughter: Shannon King; 6 great grandchildren, Josh Pruitt, Jake Pruitt, Ellen Curtis, Noah Curtis, Sydney Wileman and Ian Wileman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruby Curtis; a brother, Clifton Curtis; a sister, Mary Etta Boswell; and a grandson, Casey Walker.
