Ruth Barnes Gist

Ruth Barnes Gist, 65, of Memphis, TN, formerly of Burnsville, MS, died Friday, October 21, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was of the Church of Christ faith. She was formerly employed for 12 years at Kroger in Cordova, TN. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping, and especially loved being a grandmother. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Lance Foster and Bro. Allen Osborn. Interment will follow in New Prospect Cemetery. Pallbearers include Timmy Barnes, Terry Bray, Harold Barnes, Scotty Lovelace, Bryan Bray, and Jonathan Jones. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Gist of Memphis, TN; 1 daughter, Jeana Wallace and husband, Charlie, of Arlington, TN; 1 brother, Frank Wayne Barnes of Burnsville, MS; and 1 grandchild, Gaston Gist of Arlington, TN.
