Doug Timbes, 89, of Tishomingo, Mississippi, died Friday, September 16, 2011, at Magnolia Regional Health Center - Corinth. He was a member of Tishomingo Baptist Church. He loved and enjoyed basketball among all things, except his wife, Effie, whom he loved the most. Visitation is scheduled for 11 AM until 1 PM on Tuesday, September 20 at Tishomingo Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Tishomingo Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Robbie Crane. Interment will follow in Tishomingo Cemetery. Pallbearers include Keith Frederick, Bradley Frederick, Tommy Frederick, Jeffrey Frederick, Larry Webb, and Danny McClung. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Effie Timbes of Tishomingo; 3 sons – Donald Ray Timbes of Arizona; Dennis Timbes of Memphis, TN; and David Timbes of Arizona; 2 step sons – Kenneth Frederick (Nancy) of Fulton, and Roger Frederick (Liddie) of Southaven; 1 daughter – Deborah Pitts of Tampa, FL; 5 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 4 step grandsons, and 17 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minter and Fannie Timbes; 2 brothers, James and Amos Timbes; 2 sisters, Bea Stephens and Cathleen Lindsey; and a step granddaughter, Karen Frederick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tishomingo Baptist Church Fund.
