H.W. “Duck” Dean, 81, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Friday, September 2, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center - Iuka. He was a member of Rocky Springs United Methodist Church, and was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, and was a veteran member of the American Legion. Visitation is scheduled for 1 until 3 PM on Sunday, September 4 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM on Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Robert Armstrong. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Steve Smith, Dean Harvey, Kean Harvey, Joseph Dean, Thomas Bunch, and Kenny Franks. Honorary bearers will be the 8th Class of 1946 Central School. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife Jewel Dean of Iuka; 1 son – Kenneth Dean (Lisa) of Iuka; 1 daughter – Vicki Bunch (Thomas) of Iuka; 1 brother – Sam Dean of Corinth; 2 sisters – Mary Hall and Sarah Harvey, both of Iuka; 2 grandchildren – Joseph and Kendra Dean; and 3 great grandchildren – Jada Dean, Aiden Dean, and Annison Tinsley Dean. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Victoria Dean. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rocky Springs United Methodist Church Fund.
