Palmer Rhodes, 82, of Iuka, Mississippi, died August 13, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He was a member of Iuka Baptist Church and a former truck driver. He enjoyed raising horses, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 8 PM on Sunday, August 14 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Monday, August 15, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Stevie Byrd and James Grisham. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Sam Rhodes, Chad Harwell, John McGaughy, Jeff Burcham, Hilton “Popcorn” Moore, and Chris Grimaldi. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Rhodes of Iuka; 3 sons – Terry Rhodes (Ingrid) of Iuka, Johnny Rhodes (Joette) of Iuka, and Davey Rhodes (Kim) of Tuscumbia, AL; 4 sisters – Lyda Bell Parsons of Iuka; Lillian Fell of Southaven; Doris Walker of Iuka; and Martha Sue Bacon of Iuka; 7 grandchildren – Nikki Rhodes Tapp (Derrick) of Iuka; Sam Rhodes (Emmalie) of Boca Raton, FL; Will Rhodes (Lori Beth) of Shreveport, LA; Callie Rhodes Grimaldi (Chris); Jamie Rhodes Schad (David) of Temple, GA; Sarah Rhodes of Tuscumbia, AL; and Thomas Rhodes of Tuscumbia, AL; and 7 great grandchildren – Mayci Grimaldi, Coby Tapp, Addison Rhodes, Bradyn Grimaldi, Dallas Schad, Jaxon Schad, and Mollie Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Cynthia Rhodes; 3 brothers – Bill, Virgil, and Howard Rhodes; and 1 sister – Estelle Frederick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Gilead Cemetery Fund.
