David Leon McVay, 62, of Tishomingo, Mississippi, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center - Iuka. He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, and enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and being outdoors. Visitation is scheduled for 4 until 9 PM on Wednesday, August 3 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Arthur Hardin. Interment will follow in South Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers include Larry Freeman, Gary Freeman, Jared George, Lane White, Jimmy Bailey, and Bill Bailey. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Scott Segars, Adam Wright, Harold Marlar, David Brown, Danny Reid, George Gresham, and Dannie Wright. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bailey McVay of Tishomingo, MS; 2 brothers – Charles McVay of Iuka and Stanley McVay of Allsboro, AL; 3 brothers-in-law – Lynell Bailey, Billy Bailey (Lois), and Jimmy Bailey (Ann); 4 sisters – Pauline Murphy of Sheffield, AL; Dorothy Burgess (Charles) of Tuscumbia, AL; Martha Tidwell of Iuka; and Joyce Tennison (Shields) of Booneville, MS; 1 sister-in-law – Betty Mitchell (Jim); and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Estella McVay; and 2 sisters – Vickie Aldridge and Magdaline Franks.
