Marie Evelyn Isbell Barnes, 83, of Cairo, Mississippi, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at her residence. She was a member of Southwest Baptist Church, which she loved and worked hard for. She was previously a hospital cook. She loved flowers, riding on pontoon boats, and spending time with her family. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, at Southwest Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Forked Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Sunday, July 17, at Southwest Baptist Church, and will continue on Monday starting at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Pallbearers include Jacky Bullock, Jerad Sims, Darrell Vess, Ronnie Timbes, Mike Timbes, and Tommy McAnally. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Cairo kids. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 1 daughter, Diana Johnson and husband, Bro. Bobby R. Johnson, of Cairo, MS; 1 brother, Clovis Isbell and wife, Geraldine, of Cairo, MS; 2 grandchildren, Marcus Johnson and wife, Ashley, and Candace Barker and husband, Rob; and 3 great-grandchildren, Levi Johnson, Lexi Johnson, and Rachel Barker. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Isbell; a son, James Barnes; a granddaughter, Emily Johnson; a brother, Clyde Isbell and wife, Hazel; a sister, Weber Stutts and husband, Joe; and the father of her children, J. C. Barnes.
