Ricky Whirley, Jr.

Ricky Dewayne Whirley, Jr., 27, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident in Burnsville, MS. He was employed at Ferrous Metals and as a carpenter at Whirley Bird Construction. He enjoyed fishing, riding four-wheelers, and spending time with his family and friends. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday, June 6, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. Alvin Meeks and Donnie Bobo. Interment will follow in Carpenter Cemetery. Pallbearers include Christopher Walker, Jeremy Whirley, Billy Hamm, Jr., Keith Hawley, Matthew Broadway, Jason Austin, Randy Whirley, and Brandon Hamrick. Honorary Pallbearers include Luke Calton, Anthony Whirley, Keith Ligon, Joe Kain, and Chad Alderman. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Nicole, of Burnsville, MS; his mother, Sherry Emerson of Burnsville, MS, and his father and step-mother, Ricky and Karen Whirley, Sr. of Burnsville, MS; his grandmothers, Paulette Whirley of Iuka, MS, and Wilma Walker of Burnsville, MS; 1 son, Caden Whirley, and 1 daughter, Sydney Whirley both of the home; 1 brother, David Whirley of Burnsville, MS; and 4 sisters, Heather Hamrick, Lauran Whirley, and Brooklyn Emerson, all of Burnsville, MS, and Ciara Casillas of New York. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Larry Walker and Cooter Whirley; and his step-father, Ricky Emerson.
