Ruby South, 77, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center - Iuka. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cooking, and was a cook for many local area restaurants. She also enjoyed her flowers. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Saturday, April 30 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at New Salem Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. It will be officiated by Bro. Ron Norvell. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 1 son – Stevie South (Debbie) of Oxford, AL; 1 daughter – Diane Butrico (Anthony) of Clearwater, FL; 2 brothers – William Whitaker of Burnsville, MS and Billy Whitaker of Iuka, MS; 2 sisters – Kathy Austin (Gerry) of Burnsville, MS and Betty Taylor of Phoenix, AZ; 1 sister in law – Cleta Whitaker; 4 grandchildren – Angela Mills (Kelly) of Corinth, MS: Priscilla Davis (Brian) of Iuka, MS; Steven South and Justin South, both of Oxford, AL; 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delton South; her mother and step father, Addie and Grady Whitaker; her mother and father in law, Clester and Frances South; her brother, Gerald South; her sister, Marie White; and her sister in law, Della Faye Puckett.
