Dan Skelton, 67, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at his family residence. He was a member of Grissom Chapel Church, and loved attending church services there. He enjoyed helping people, taking care of his animals, farming, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Visitation is beginning at 5 PM on Sunday, March 20 and continuing until service time on Monday, March 21 at Grissom Chapel Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM on Monday, March 21, 2011, at Grissom Chapel Church, officiated by Bro. Larry Marshall, Bro. Danny Keymon, and Bro. Briggs King. Pallbearers will be Tom Hamm,Jr., Tanner Henry, Lee Harrell, Kenny Green, Kevin Green, and Clint Smith. Honorary bearers will be Kenny Skelton, Jordan Ross, Dr. Al Flannery, and Tom Hamm, Sr. Interment will follow in Grissom Chapel Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Faye Skelton of Burnsville, MS; 1 son – Kenny Skelton of Burnsville, MS; 1 step son – Beau Green of Cherokee, AL; 4 step daughters – Judy Hamm (Tom) of Burnsville, MS: Ruthie Green of Burnsville, MS; Cookie Frazier (Scottie) of Poplar Bluff, MO; and Linda Stanfield (Roy) of Cherokee, AL; 2 sisters – Nancy Brown (Eddie) of Iuka, MS and Cathy Skelton of Burnsville, MS; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma Cooper and Paul Skelton; his brother, Robert Skelton; his sister, Janice Cooper; 2 nephews, Rod and Jessie Skelton; and his step daughter, Brenda Choate.
