Rosa Phifer, 81, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Fifth Street Baptist Church, and enjoyed sewing and cooking. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Sunday, March 06 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Tony Curtis. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include David Whitfield, Austin Whitfield, Andrew Whitfield, Alex Whitfield, Joshua Norris, Al Collins, and Bobby Phifer. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Cecil Phifer of Iuka, MS; 2 sons – John Norris (Mitzi) of Jackson, MS and Noonan Phifer (Lila) of Talladega, AL; 1 daughter – Brenda Whitfield (Jimmy Don) of Iuka, MS; 2 brothers – Harvey Parham of Iuka, MS and Marvin Parham (Dessie) of Belmont, MS; 1 sister – Barbara Thomas of Kenosha, WI; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Avon Norris; her parents, James and Myrtie Mae Parham; and her son, Billy Ray Norris. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fifth Street Baptist Church Fund.
