Clarence A. Williams, 83, of Florence, AL (formerly of Tishomingo, MS), died Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Merrill Gardens in Florence, AL. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years of service in Prentiss County, MS. He was a very independent person, but was very generous in regards to other people. He was a true handy man and “Jack of all Trades”. He enjoyed yard work, gardening, traveling, and automobiles. Visitation is scheduled for 11 AM until 1 PM on Sunday, February 20 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Gene Gist and Bro. Cecil Woodruff. Interment will follow in Tishomingo Cemetery. Pallbearers include Pat Williams, Dan Brinkman, Roger Smith, George Yow, Kenneth Murray, and Darrell Nelson. Honorary bearers will be John Smith, Charlie Gilley, and Joe Johnson. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his niece and primary caregiver, Ann Harvey (Ron) of Florence, AL; his nephew, James Robert Williams (Chiquita) of Richmond, KY; 1 brother – John Leonard Williams (Norma) of Havana, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives; and special friends – John and Delores Smith, Charlie and Peggy Gilley, Carrie Coggins, Terry and Dan Brinkman, Roger and Lisa Smith, and Barbara Spencer McKinney. He was preceded in death his beloved wife of 50 years, Bennie Sue Williams; his parents, Robert I. and Minne Murphy Williams; 5 brothers – James Clifford, Earnest, Clemit, Lester, and Oneal Williams; and one sister, Bobbie Holland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or to the American Cancer Society and www.cancer.org
