Johnnie Wamsley Ledgewood, 85, of Burnsville, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 14, 2011, at the Carrington House in Iuka, MS. She was born July 15, 1925, in Burnsville, MS, to Lineous and Fannie Wamsley. She resided in Tuscumbia, AL, and was employed by Reynolds Metals for 30 years. Following retirement, she and her husband, Garold, returned to Burnsville where she was an active member of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 16, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 17, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Elder Bob Ward. Interment will follow in Burnsville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include a sister, Marie Duckworth of Burnsville, MS; a sister-in-law, Anita Wamsley of Burnsville, MS; 8 nephews, Donald Shackelford, David Shackelford, Harold Floyd, Albert Floyd, Mike Floyd, Mike Duckworth, Phil Duckworth, and Bryan Wamsley; 4 nieces, Martha Moss, Sandra Woodruff, Linda Miller, and Deb Robinson; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Garold Ledgewood; 2 brothers, Howard Wamsley and L. A. Wamsley; and 2 sisters, Eutra Shackelford and Faye Floyd. Memorials may be made to Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church.
