Georgia Carnes, 50, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, January 6, 2011, at her residence. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and being outdoors. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Wednesday, January 12 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Antioch Freewill Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Bobby Johnson. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers include Daisy Williams, Pamela Johnson, Anna Johnson, Pamela Whirley, Joanne Walker, Sarah Dodson, and Jonica Heavener. Honorary bearers will be Adrianne Byrd and Stacey Freeman. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 1 son – Nicklous Carnes of Virginia Beach, VA; 1 daughter – Stacey Freeman (Shannon) of Glen, MS; 3 brothers – David Byrd of Burnsville; Timothy Byrd of Saltillo; Jason Kirk (Melinda) of Saltillo; 2 step brothers – Roger Walker and Randy Walker (Lisa), both of Burnsville; 2 sisters – Daisy Williams of Iuka and Pamela Johnson of Sanford, NC; 1 step sister – Joanne Walker of Burnsville; 2 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bailey Carnes; her mother, Norma Jean Clark Walker; her father, George F. Byrd; her stepfather, Roy Walker, and her niece, Reva Jean Chatham.
