George Harrison

George Gary Harrison, 68, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS. He attended Poplar Springs Free Will Baptist Church, and was retired from the construction industry. He was the Fire Chief of the North Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department, and was very dedicated to his fire department service. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 1, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2, at Poplar Springs Free Will Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. Services will be officiated by Bro. Malcolm Garrett. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers include Terry Lambert, Gerry Lambert, Michael Parrish, Ronnie Thompson, Tim Fooshee, Jim Lovelace, and Shane Suddieth. Honorary Pallbearers include the Tishomingo County Volunteer Fire Fighters. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by 2 sons, Gary Wayne Harrison (Chandi) of Kilgore, TX, and Brian Keith Harrison (Denver Blake Carter) of Dallas, TX; a special niece and nephew, Doug and Melissa Johnson of Iuka, MS; 4 grandchildren, Kayla Harrison and Kelsi Harrison, both of White Oak, TX, and Kylie Watkins and Kaden Watkins, both Kilgore, TX; 2 brothers, Bill Harrison of Brookfield, IL, and Dale Harrison of Chicago, IL; 1 sister, Kay Barnes of Union City, TN; 2 special great-nieces, Mattie and Sophie Johnson of Iuka, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Faye Harrison; his parents, Bill and Margaret Harrison; and 2 brothers, Thomas Earl Harrison and Dean Harrison.
