Mary W. Boothe, 92, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center following an extended illness. She was born Mary Josephine Wallace on September 18, 1918, in Margerum, Alabama, to Robert Houston and Lady Pearl Walker Wallace. She graduated as Valedictorian from Burnsville High School in 1937. She worked for 16 years for the Mississippi Welfare Department as a clerk typist and stenographer. She was a member of Burnsville First Baptist Church for over 71 years where she taught Sunday School for many years and served as Church Treasurer for nearly 30 years. She enjoyed quilting and bird watching, and loved her church family. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. Elbert Ray Bennett. Interment will follow in Holder Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include two sons, John David Boothe and wife, Sally, and Jerome Wallace Boothe, all of Burnsville, MS; three grandsons, John Daniel Boothe of Michie, TN, Michael Paul Boothe of Booneville, MS, and Chris Boothe of Burnsville, MS; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Vindy Boothe; her parents; and her brother, Robert Earl Wallace.
