Della Faye Puckett, 77, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Monday, November 22, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a longtime member of New Salem Baptist Church and was retired from the Iuka Guaranty Bank. She also was a substitute teacher for the Iuka School District. She enjoyed quilting, reading, and taking care of others. She also loved to spend time with and cook for her grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m, Tuesday, November 23, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, at New Salem Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. Services will be officiated by Bro. Ron Norvell. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dusty Puckett, Jeff Hazelwood, Darryle Hazelwood, Jason Lambert, Josh Lambert, and Tyler Barnes. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 2 sons, Keith Puckett and wife, Teresa, and Tim Puckett and wife, Debbie, both of Iuka, MS; 2 brothers, Sam South of Faulkner, MS, and Roy South of Collierville, TN; 3 sisters, Ona Hazelwood, Louise Lambert, and Wanda Pruitt, all of Iuka, MS; 6 grandchildren, Dusty Puckett, Ashton Puckett, Elisa Puckett, Jessica Puckett, Dusty Davis, and Dannie Till; 2 great-grandchildren, Lucas Till and Lauren Till; and a special friend, Joe Stones of Iuka, MS. She was preceded in death her husband, John Puckett; her parents, Clester and Frances Scruggs South; and a brother, Delton South.
