Ara Pearl Amerson Ara Pearl Amerson, 86, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at her residence. She was a lover of Christ, and was a member of the Church of Christ since 1951. She was a lifelong homemaker and loving mother. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 10, at Berea Church of Christ. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, at Berea Church of Christ, officiated by Jim Estes and John Hardwick. Interment will follow in Little Flock Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jimmy Calton, James Lovelace, Rick Wixom, John Parsons, Ray South, and Ben South. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include her husband, John E. Amerson of Burnsville, MS; 1 son, Tony E. Amerson of Hernando, MS; 1 daughter, Mary Jo Ott of Henagar, AL; and 3 grandchildren, James Chisolm of Greenwood, MS, Brent Amerson of Esparto, CA, and Daisy May Amerson of Esparto, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Enoch Ulysses and Oma Ann DeFore Shackelford; and a sister, Lorene Carter.
